TOWN - N - GOWN
Purpose Statement
Town-N-Gown is an independent, informal association of men and women dedicated to developing a mutual understanding between Old Dominion University and the various civilian and military communities of Greater Hampton Roads.
Membership is open to all, and dues are $25 (single or double, same address) per year. Town-N-Gown provides an opportunity for area citizens and military neighbors to join the academic community for many diverse activities.
The organization is composed of townspeople (TOWN), military personnel (“N” for national defense forces), and university personnel (GOWN). Town-N-Gown, by presenting programs and organizing joint activities, offers its members the opportunity to increase their awareness of and appreciation for the total community with its many assets.

Oct 26 - Nov 1 Homecoming week including: the ODUAA Alumni Honors Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 29; a Homecoming Fireworks Celebration at Whitehurst Beach on the Elizabeth River waterfront on Friday, October 30; and gameday activities on October 31 that include activities for students, alumni, and friends. Keep up with happenings at ODU by joining us!
Town-N-Gown members are always welcome at the board meetings as well as attending any associated scheduled tours. We will normally invite ODU professionals to make a presentation just after the scheduled monthly board meetings. Plan to be there at 11:00am to hear the speaker.
